Dear Reader,

Thanks so much to those of you who bought my book. And to those of you who haven't bought it yet, or who borrowed it from a friend, or who picked up a copy with lentil-soup stains from eBay for five dollars: listen, I hold no grudges. We're all adults here.

And for those who haven't yet heard of my book, I'm not angry with you. Just disappointed. So here's a quick summary: The Know-It-All is the story of the odd but remarkable year I spent reading the entire Encyclopaedia Britannica-all forty-four million words of it. I wrote about the amazing things I learned, the amusingly disruptive effects the project had on my life, and how the experience changed my perception of wisdom and intelligence. And above all, the book is an ode to the joy of reading and learning.

So please check out my Web site and let me know what you think.

Thanks,
AJ
